We’ve just celebrated Daddy’s (@sedate_nate )4 We’ve just celebrated Daddy’s (@sedate_nate )40th birthday and had a wonderful weekend filled with family and friends ❤️😎

George’s new words for the week are, “boys”, “strawberry” and “welcome.”

He loved dancing with his cousins Leroy and Clayton. Dancing to #crazyfrog and #gangnamstyle 🕺🏼
-
Mummy has prioritised some ‘me’ time and found enjoyment in running the #orewaestuarycycleway every other day 🏃🏼‍♀️

It was the brainchild of New Zealand marine archaeologist and diver Kelly Tarlton.

Built in disused sewage storage tanks, the aquarium used a new form of acrylic shaping, which allowed curved tunnels rather than viewing areas with flat panels only, as in previous aquariums.
-
It is home to over 1,500 animals and over 50 species. Our favourite...SHARK!!! 🐙🦈🐠🦑🦞

We’ve been in New Zealand for 2 months and time We’ve been in New Zealand for 2 months and time is flying! When we first discussed leaving the UK it was frightening. Giving up our house, my job and taking George away from friends, family and all things familiar.

There are so many beaches and parks for children to keep them busy and engaged. The biggest change has been in his speech. During the lockdown I worried about the effect it would have on his development. It’s incredible how being able to engage and be in close proximity with other people has sped up his speech and desire to talk. Some word and phrases are crystal clear and other not so much 😂
- -
We’re now at the dreaded “mine” phase...for anything and everything. It was funny at first but when it’s a thousand times a day, not so much 🙄
- -
At what age did you children hit the “mine” phase and how did you tackle it?
Haven’t posted in a while because of everything Haven’t posted in a while because of everything happening in the UK 😢 We didn’t want to appear to be flaunting or showing off that we are experiencing the polar opposite of so many people we love and care about who are now confined to their homes. But then after speaking to my Mum, she said that lots of people we care about really do want to see our adventures and that it gives them a brief moment of joy in a very hard daily reality. So we will continue to share our travels with the whole hearted intention of bringing a smile to your face and hope that soon, this will all be over ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We heavily rely on technology when we travel to ke We heavily rely on technology when we travel to keep in touch with family and friends. New Zealand is 13 hours ahead of the UK. With all the negative headlines regarding the UK in the media, it was great to FaceTime my Mum and talk with our old neighbours over the phone.

Being able to share George’s journey with them is important ❤️❤️❤️ He has gone through another growth spurt and is now obsessed with climbing anything and everything in sight! (Gives mummy heart attacks 😂) But he is pretty stable and sure of himself 👍🏼

Grateful that our family and friends in England are safe and healthy. Unlike so many others. Hoping everyone stays safe ❤️🇬🇧❤️
Devastated to read the news coming out of the UK r Devastated to read the news coming out of the UK right now 🇬🇧🥺 Thinking of family and friends who continue to feel frustrated, confused and let down. It’s hard to not feel guilty here in NZ, living a normal life when people I care about are suffering 😕

We left for NZ so George could meet and spend time with his family who had never met him. If I’ve learnt anything because of Covid it’s that time and life is precious and they family matter above all else.

George’s Auntie Chelsea and Uncle Wayne work in the movie business, with horses. Our family business is in the equestrian sector. So It was an incredibly wonderful moment for our family when George rode his first horse and Grandma and Grandad were there to witness it.

Here is George with the beautiful Arnie, who has been in Lord of the Rings, Marco Polo and Spartacus (the horse that is, the man is Uncle Wayne!)

Thinking of all the Grandparents and families who cannot come together for Christmas ❤️ Hope things get better ❤️
We’re staying in an area called Kaukapakapa, whi We’re staying in an area called Kaukapakapa, which is classed as North West Auckland. Around a 45 minute drive from Auckland CBD.

You have to drive everywhere because it’s the countryside and they have strict speed limits. Maximum of 100kph but the majority of roads are 80km/h (50mph) so it can take a while to get to places 😂

But I’ve found this awesome wood, not far from our house. At first George was hesitant, unlike are old stomping ground in the UK, there are no dog walkers and no clear views. But after a few visits, he now runs off and leaves me! 😂🤷🏼‍♀️
Motherhood has been the most rewarding challenge o Motherhood has been the most rewarding challenge of my life so far ❤️ In the last two years, we’ve travelled to over 20 countries and made memories that we will cherish forever ✈️🌏 Super excited for George to experience his first Kiwi Christmas in the sunshine! 🎅🏼🎄🌞
