DID YOU KNOW That Milford Sound is not a sound? - DID YOU KNOW That Milford Sound is not a sound?
-
It’s actually a fiord. It was named so in recognition of its geographic features.
-
This a large ocean inlet is a bit bigger than a bay and is flanked by sheer rock faces and majestic peaks.
-
However, sounds are formed when a river valley is flooded with the sea, whereas Milford Sound carved out by erosion of ancient glacial ice 🇳🇿
The world is his classroom! - I love watching him The world is his classroom!
-
I love watching him explore and learn in new environments. In the last 4 months he has mastered the alphabet, can count to 20 and has picked up a few Maori words.
-
We’ve been bike riding, kayaking, walked up mountains, horse riding and swimming. Met people from all over the world and played with children of various nationalities.
-
Travel and all the experiences that come with it are helping to shape George into a wonderful little human ❤️

Who else travels with their kids or plans to once Covid allows?
You simply can't drive along the North Otago coast You simply can't drive along the North Otago coast without stopping to stare at the Moeraki Boulders - they're amazing!
-
Moeraki is now most famous for its boulders; mysteriously spherical stones scattered across a beach.
-
Each boulder weighs several tonnes and is up to two metres high 😮
-
Scientists explain the boulders as calcite concretions formed about 65 million years ago.
-
According to Maori legend, the boulders are gourds washed ashore from the great voyaging canoe Araiteuru when it was wrecked upon landfall in New Zealand hundreds of years ago ❤️❤️❤️

Sometimes I wonder if we took for granted being able to travel so freely and easily pre-covid. Did we take it for granted? Probably yes. I remember being terrified about travelling with George when he was a baby. So many unknowns. Such an empowering and fantastic experience ❤️❤️❤️

It features one of New Zealand’s oldest lighthouses perched above the famous rocks named by Captain Cook, because they looked like pieces of gold!

It is also home to some of the world’s rarest penguins and one of the only places you might see seals, sea lions and elephant seals in the same area.

Unfortunately we didn’t see any! 🙄 But the views and the wall to the lighthouse (on a cliff edge) were more than enough! 👌🏼🇳🇿❤️
Throwback to my maternity leave ❤️ I can’t i Throwback to my maternity leave ❤️ I can’t imagine what it’s been like for the new mums who have experienced pregnancy, birth and their first experience as a mum during lockdown. Huge respect. It can’t be easy at all. No mums clubs or coffee clubs. Friends and family not being able to visit and give you a much needed break. Just having a person to talk to or another mum to ask questions to. In Auckland, we’ve just been put into another 7 day lock down. This isn’t as hard as our friends and family in the UK who have been locked down for almost a year now. It’s a reality check at how horrible this virus is. And a reminder of how many people have lost their jobs and how many businesses have been affected. Sending big love to all the new mums and all the mums who are doing their best in a a really shitty situation ❤️❤️❤️ #lockdown

That used to be me. I always wanted a hotel and thought that campervans were for old people (sorry!) 🙄

After my first RV experience I much prefer a campervan to hotels. With and without children (I’ve experience both) 💪🏼

They are like a home away from home. I love the people and families you meet at the camp grounds and the freedom to move when and where you like. At a pace and budget that suits you.

When travel restrictions lift and you can travel again, will you consider an RV? Any questions holla!

In October 2020 we made the decision to leave the UK and go to New Zealand mid Covid pandemic.
